Usually, Ritonavir and Lopinavir are combined in a tablet or in a liquid solution to make the treatment more effective. Basically, lopinavir and ritonavir act as an antivirus, preventing and reducing the production of HIV virus in the body. Patients should be informed that lopinavir and ritonavir are not used as a cure for HIV; rather, they are only used to treat and manage the condition. The combined drugs also do not prevent the virus from being transmitted from one person to another. |
